“A view of Latin America”

A way for your children to learn Spanish and Spanish culture while having FUN! Throughout the activities we will stimulate the children to acquire the language. The children will learn through music & movement, crafts, games, vocabulary and story time. With these activities your children will enjoy and have FUN while learning Spanish!

These are the activities  that will be teaching. 

 

- Introduction to Spanish: Bienvenidos! Welcome! Introduction to Spanish and friends (amigos).

 

- Introduction to Colombia:  Music and instruments unique to Colombia. Discussing Colombian art for kids like Encanto and Shakira. Learning all the different styles of clothing in Colombia based on geography. 

 

- Introduction to Mexico: Aztec and Mayan culture. Mayan pyramids and traditional clothing. Music and Mariachis. Rivers, beaches, and animals unique to Mexico.

     

- Introduction to Argentina : Gauchos (Cowboys) their typical apparel with sombreros. Animals found in Argentina. Argentinean cuisine (carne). Their passion for sports like soccer and famous soccer players. Tango and Music. 

 

- Introduction to Costa Rica : Animals unique to Costa Rica for example their monkeys and frogs. The diverse landscape found in Costa Rica from their beaches to volcanoes. Hands on volcano project with the children.

- Introduction to Peru : Learning about Machu Picchu and Cuzco. Different topography found in Peru from the coast, to the mountains, and amazon. Playing with llamas. Art project showcasing the different landscape of Peru. Learning about the influence of surfing in Peru.

- Fiestas (Celebrations) : Celebrating our Spanish traditions with a piñata, and traditional games.
